Terms of service

The conditions for using AssetRouter, for those who publish licences on their data and for those who buy them. Last updated: 23 October 2026.

1. Who we are and what we offer

AssetRouter is a software platform run by Giacomo Massolini, via Poggiali 41, 29121 Piacenza, Italy ("AssetRouter" or "we"), reachable at giacomo.massolini@assetrouter.eu. It lets people who own data (the "Owner") publish usage licences on their data and decide the permitted uses and prices, and it lets people, applications and AI agents (the "Buyer") obtain those licences and access the data under their conditions. AssetRouter records every access request and its outcome.

2. AssetRouter's role

AssetRouter provides the software and the record. The licence contract on the data is concluded directly between the Owner and the Buyer, on the terms the Owner publishes. AssetRouter does not buy or resell the data, is not a party to that contract and does not act in the name or on behalf of either.

3. Accounts

The service is reserved for businesses and professionals: it is not sold to consumers. To register you must be at least 18 and act on behalf of a business or your professional activity. You need an account to publish or buy licences. You give us true information and keep it up to date, you keep your credentials and your applications' keys safe, and you are responsible for what is done with your account. If you think someone is using it without permission, tell us at once.

4. Owner's commitments

The Owner represents and warrants that they hold all the rights needed to license the data they publish, for the uses they allow, and that publishing it does not infringe third-party rights, contracts, trade secrets or laws. In particular, the Owner warrants that the data is anonymous or not personal, unless agreed in writing with AssetRouter (section 7). Descriptions, previews and prices are the Owner's responsibility. The Owner holds AssetRouter harmless from third-party claims arising from a breach of these commitments.

5. Buyer's commitments

The Buyer uses the data only for the uses, within the limits and for the period of the licence bought, and makes the applications and agents it uses respect the same conditions. Permission for one use does not cover another: for example, being allowed to index does not include training a model. The Buyer does not transfer or share access tokens.

6. Prices, usage fee and payments

  • The Owner sets the price of each licence.
  • AssetRouter applies to each sale a software platform usage fee of 17% of the price. The fee is zero until 31 December 2026, or until total sales on the platform reach €10,000, whichever comes first. Example: on a €1,000 sale the Owner receives €830.
  • Payment processor costs (for example Stripe fees) are borne by the Owner.
  • Card payments go through Stripe, directly to the Owner's connected Stripe account; the Owner is the seller to the Buyer. For card payments the usage fee is kept at the time of sale. USDC payments go over the network shown at purchase and arrive directly in the Owner's wallet: in that case the usage fee accrued in the month is invoiced to the Owner at the end of the month and paid in euro by bank transfer.
  • Using the platform to prepare and publish your own licences is free. If the Owner asks AssetRouter to prepare the setup, it costs €290 if the data is already online and €590 if it must be put online in AssetRouter's private space; it is free for the first three Owners. Amounts are net of any taxes.
  • AssetRouter may change the usage fee or setup costs with at least 30 days' notice by email. Changes do not affect licences already sold.

7. Private space and personal data

If the data is not online, AssetRouter can keep it in a private space on its servers, reachable only with a valid token issued for a licence. AssetRouter uses that data only to deliver it to authorised Buyers and for no other purpose.
If, by prior written agreement, the data contains personal data, the Owner remains the controller and AssetRouter acts as processor under Article 28 GDPR, on the terms of the Data Processing Agreement, which the Owner accepts in their workspace.

8. Request record

AssetRouter records every access request, the use requested and the outcome. Owner and Buyer can view and export the records that concern them. The record shows the decision the platform took; on its own it does not prove delivery or later use of the data.

9. Service availability

We do our best to keep AssetRouter running without interruption, but the service is provided without any guarantee of continuous availability. We may suspend it for maintenance or security, giving notice when possible. We recommend keeping a copy of your data.

10. Suspension and closure

You can close your account at any time by writing to us. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the law, after notifying you, unless the breach is serious or urgent. Licences already bought remain valid on their terms.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, AssetRouter's total liability to each user for any damage related to the service does not exceed what that user paid AssetRouter, as usage fee and setup costs, in the 12 months before the event. AssetRouter is not responsible for the content, accuracy or lawfulness of data published by Owners, nor for how Buyers use the data. These limits do not apply in case of wilful misconduct or gross negligence (Article 1229 of the Italian Civil Code), nor in the other cases where the law does not allow them.

12. Changes to the terms

We may change these terms with at least 30 days' notice by email. If you do not agree, you can close your account before the changes take effect.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Italian law. The courts of Milan have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

14. Specific approval

Under Articles 1341 and 1342 of the Italian Civil Code, the user specifically approves the following clauses: 2 (AssetRouter's role), 4 (Owner's commitments and indemnity), 6 (changes to the usage fee), 9 (service availability), 10 (suspension and closure), 11 (limitation of liability), 12 (changes to the terms), 13 (jurisdiction).
